Back in 2008 CO-D Sen. Mark Udall said this during a debate for his reelection:
“I’m not for a government-sponsored solution,” Udall said. “I’m for enhancing and improving the employer-based system that we have.”
He then went on to vote for the Affordable Care Act (ACA/Obamacare) but it didn’t really comeback to bite him that election season. Fast forward to his current race against Republican Congressman Cory Gardner. With all the issues with the ACA and State Exchanges collapsing I don’t think this will bode well for Udall. Trying to drive the point home Gardner had this to say
“Mark Udall was elected on a lie,” Gardner said. “Mark Udall promised he would not support a government-sponsored solution and he broke that promise and voted for Obamacare.”
Udall’s campaign fired back by saying if Republicans believe they have found a smoking gun, they’re simply shooting themselves in the foot because ACA is not government-run health care. Im afraid ISIS will end up front and center this election drowning out the ACA and the border crisis. We will just have to wait and see. Read more on this at The Denver Post.
