A federal judge declared this week that California’s 10-day waiting period for purchasing a firearm was unconstitutional. The current regulation was challenged in court by two pro-gun groups, along with several individuals.
Brandon Combs, involved in the suit, stated that, “California gun owners are not second-class citizens and the Second Amendment doesn’t protect second class rights. This decision is an important step towards restoring fundamental individual liberties in the Golden State.”
Alan Gottlieb, Founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, a group involved in the lawsuit, excited with the court’s ruling by saying, “This ruling clearly addressed the issue we put before the court. We are naturally delighted with the outcome.”
