ISIS has continued it’s killing spree with two more beheadings this time of soldiers from Libya it captured. The most worrying thing is there are American citizens joining the ranks of ISIS at an alarming rate. Senator Ted Cruz will introduce legislation that would strip them of their citizenship and block them from entering the country again (though obviously they could just walk across the border in Mexico). Sen. Cruz’s bill strongly resembles Virginia Rep. Frank Wolf’s bill introduced into the House.
While it is unlikely anyone who joins ISIS would even attempt to come back into the US. there was a recent instance where a man from North Carolina, Don Morgan tried to join ISIS but was turned away at the Syria border by Turkish forces. He returned and flew back into JFK where he was promptly arrested for some other non terrorist charges stemming from another incident here in the US.
