Breitbart Big Government reported on Sunday that a debate between Scott Brown and incumbent Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen in New Hampshire got a little intense. Brown was making his closing statement when Shaheen decided to interrupt him with a snarky remark. The audience reacted negatively by booing and shouting, “Rude!
Brown stated, “She’s voting against small business 100 percent of the time. She’s got a zero rating from the National Federation of Independent Business. I received their endorsement, but not only them but from the Chamber of Commerce because—“ At that point Shaheen interjected, “Koch Brothers funded organization.” She was referring to billionaire philanthropists Charles and David Koch, who give money to conservative and libertarian candidates and causes. The Koch brothers have been attacked by liberal politicians such as Sen. Bernie Sanders for their political activities.
The audience at the debate, which took at place Temple Adath Yeshurun n Manchester did not react well to Shaheen’s interruption. Booing and shouts of “rude” filled the air. Brown took control and asked if Shaheen would expand on her point. They two candidates then got into a wrangle over why Brown would object to Shaheen’s interrupting his closing statement. The crowd, described as “largely Democratic,” applauded Brown at that point.
Shaheen has been consistently ahead of Brown throughout the 2014 campaign, leading by 2.2 percent in the RealClearPolitics average. However, Shaheen has not polled above 50 percent in any of the recent polls. Brown has been gaining on her as of late. The race in blue state New Hampshire is considered a tossup with just about a week to go in the campaign.
